Story Tails Lemony Snicket

Lemon.  Our glorious herd queen.  We purchased Lemon in milk with her two doelings Sunny and Violet.  I set out to learn how to milk by hand and Lemon and I slowly bonded as she patiently taught me...that I needed to milk faster.  She was very leery of us and kept her girls close to her at all times.  It was amazing to watch her transition and take control of our whole little herd.  Lemon silently watches over everything but she definitely lets us know when she wants our attention and affection.

Lemon has a beautiful soft udder and is very easy to hand milk.  As I learned while milking, she is very good at holding her milk while she is still feeding babies (they get ALL her wonderful milk).  Her kidding for me in 2021 was so fast and easy, she had 3 babies on the ground in about 30 mins.  Her breeder stated she never assisted and Lemon had all kids cleaned and fed on her own.

I absolutely adore this girl. She is the guardian of all those under her watchful eye and I am so grateful to have her as part of my herd.
